I don't list them all as I design them. I figure that a few at a time is good.
That way if I ever hit a mental block...............I would have something to fall back on. :-P

New Cards in my Zibbet shop

Once again I have totally neglected my poor blog. :-(

Maybe I will have more time now that I am not working.

Long story short..........the company lost the contract they had with the state.

What that means is the small contract that they still have isn't enough to pay all the employees.

So me and one of the other Ladies got layed off.

May it will be a blessing in disguise.........only time will tell.

I am working hard at designing cards for my on-line store.

Fine Art is beautiful but it seems to be one of the hardest to sell on-line.

I am still taking photographs and will add more to the store but for now my focus will be on the cards.

I did have a card sale last week. She asked if I could turn one of my photos into a card.

So I did ......it is the two Sunflowers that I have put in this post.

I am having a blast designing the cards...........almost like it is my calling.

Christmas Cards

This is a little bit of a different post for me....................I have started making some christmas cards........yaaay me!!!
I take elements from different things and then put them together.

I also made a notebook with the cards in it to take with me when I go bowling. Hopfully I can get some sales. I am going to sell them for less since there won't be any shipping or paypal fees.

Crazy Weekend

Ok so this weekend was a bit crazy.
We had the Womens city tourny this weekend.
I bowled 6 games on Saturday and 3 more on Sunday.
Plus we bowled our regular league games (3) on Friday.

Grocery shopping on Saturday after bowling lol.

That's a lot of games but I survived it.

On the way home Sunday I told my daughter that I was goiung to take pictures when we got home.
Really your going to take pictures.............aren't you tired?
Well yes I am but I work everyday so it is the only time during the day that I can do it.
She says well you can do them on Wednesday after work ( I also bowl on Tuesdays).
It will be dark then and I want the window light...........she says what does that matter you use lights.
Ha thought she had me there nope don't want to do them with just lights. lol
I used about an hour and a half before dinner to get some pictures.
So anyway here is one of the photos that I got.

Well not so much here......it has been in the 80's still.
Of course they say we are going to get a cool down in the next few days. Booooo :-( can you tell that I don't like cold weather??????
Any way back to the reason that I started talking about fall in the first place.

Yellow Orange Rose Macro.

Well here I am again. lol
Seems like the store that I buy most of my flowers from either isn't getting any decent flowers or I'm just not there at the right time. They have had a very dismal selection.
Sooooo I am getting the Roses they have. At least the Roses are in decent shape and have not been dying within a couple days. :-P

I wish there were more choices in this town but, the flower stores eiither aren't open on Sat. or they are only open in the mornings for a couple hours. Oh well such is life,,,,,,,I make do with what I can get. :-)

Ok well I'm keeping up at least for now!!!!!
I am on another Rose shooting kick. I sure do love me some Roses lol.
I took this one today along with shots of 2 other different colored Roses.
I'm only going to post this one tho............what a tease I am.
This is the only one that I have worked on today so the rest will have to wait until I get more time.

I am finally moved out the my old computer/bedroom and into my nice cozy office.
I say cozy because that is what my dcaughter and hubby call it. I just say tiny but hey at least I have somewhere to call mine.
One of these days I will actually get some shots so that I can post them.

The hardest part of the move was moving the 55 gallon fish tank. The problem was is that I have a pleco that is as tall as the tank. He was very unhappy that I had to drain most of the water out. He kept thrashing around and scared the crap out of me. I didn't take that long to move but he definatly was freaked out.
The only good part about the whole tank move is that the tank is sooooooo clean. lol I try to keep it clean but the only time it looks super good is when I take out most of the water and that isn't good to do to often.

Now we can start turning the old comp. room into a bedroom again for my granddaughter.

I can't believe that is has been over a month since I have posted anything here.
My only excuse and it's not really a good one is............I have been working on my on-line stores. Here is the address of one of them. They both have pretty much the same things in them.

This site is actually cheaper (than the other more known place) if you use the free part. They don't charge you any fees at all. So what you sell is what you make except for your paypal fees. So I have decided to promote this one.

On the free side you can have up to 50 items in your store. So if you are thinking about doing some selling of homemade items I would recommend Zibbett. It is still pretty new but if we get the word out maybe more people will start coming.

Of course If I posted more here maybe I would come more in some searches. Who knows???
I will try to post something at least once a week.

Cream Rose Macros

I have been busy taking photos every Sunday.
This was a challenge that I set for myself with the new year.
I have only missed one Sunday.......the reason for that was that I was visiting my Daughter in Las Vegas and didn't have any flowers.
The next week we went to the store and I found some flowers to buy and shoot. lol

I am now challenging myself to post at least one of those shots here every week.
So with that new challenge here are a couple of the Roses that I shot today.

Lol well once again I am slacking on posting to my blog.
I am putting together an etsy store so, a lot of my time has gone into that.
I hope that it does good.............but if it doesn't it won't devastate me..........well maybe a little. :-P
I guess time will tell.

I am drawn to this shot.
I don't know why but, it keeps pulling me in.
There really isn't a good point of focus but, something about it keeps me coming back.

I just loved the color combinations on this Dahlia.
I took all the shots on black background. I like using the black because if I want to change it the black makes it easier. Well at least for me it does. :-p

I think after Roses this may be my favorite flower.
I never seem to have good luck growing them tho. I see lots of pretty ones around town so.........maybe they just don't like where I'm trying to plant them who knows.

Wow I have been so bad with updating my blog.
I have been gone and have been so busy since I got back.
So I will just add some shots that I have processed lately.
Well maybe I will just do the how I did it shots tonight.

While I was in Vegas visiting my Daughter we went to Walmart to pick up a few things. As we walked in the door I saw these amazing Daisys. They reminded me of a Creamcicle and I knew I had to have them.
Our Walmart never has beautiful and fresh flowers. These flowers lasted over a week and the ones I get barely last a few days.
One day while the Granddaughters were napping I got out my daughters tripod and set the flowers up next to her sliding glass doors. I really wish that I could have done these outside but, the wind was blowing so inside it was.
I had nothing for a background or for supplemental lighting and it was not the best light but I was determined to get some shots.
So I set the vase on the floor next to the doors. Adjusted them to my liking and off I went.
Well any way enough rambling ..................

Ok so not to awful but needed some processing.

First I cropped it to my liking, then I adjusted the lighting and color and then used the unsharp mask.

Everything looks great.............well except for the ugly floor in the background. This calls for a texture to get rid of the floor. lol
I also covered up the flowers at the top in the background I didn't think that they added anything to the shot.
This texture is the first one that I pulled up and if I do say so myself it goes really good with the shot.
For some reason I have a knack of picking the right texture for my shots. Maybe I just have to eye for it.............who knows.
Anyway here is the finished shot.

Maybe I will start doing this with more of my shots...............How I did it.

Sneak Peak

Since I will be gone and not able to edit anything till the begining of July..........I deceided to edit a shot that I took last week with this holiday in mind.
I also shot and made the texture. I'm sure that the texture could have been better but, hey for one of my first tries.........I'll take it.

Ok so I'm a little ahead of myself with this shot but............
I am going to visit my Daughter, Son- in-law and GrandDaughters Vegas for 2 weeks and didn't want to come home to do this.
I have had this Idea in mind for a fews weeks now. Well since I took the shot of the flowers. lol :-P
I'm pretty pleased with it as I made the texture myself. :-)

I think that I have finally found something that makes my dull.......same old.......shots come alive.
Or at least gives them a different look. :-)
The more I use my textures and experiment with all the different ones I have, the more I really like them.

Feline Leukemia is a terrible disease.
We had to put down my Seal point Siamese Beau today. He was barely a year old.
We took him to the vet about a month ago because he had lost a lot of weight. The vet put him on antibiotics to see if he would regain his weight. He started to eat a little and had put on a tiny bit but, then he started to lose it all again.
We took him to the vet today with heavy hearts. We knew that he wouldn't be coming home again.

I had to replace all of my Miniture Roses as the super hard freeze we had killed them. Also bunches of my flowers did't make it either.

Good Bye Tux my friend, my buddy

Today I sit here to write a good bye to one of my cats Tux our fat boy.
He would have been 12 in May.
We took him to the Vet Sat....he had lost weight and wasn't eating or drinking.
The Vet said that he was in renal failure and that they could keep him to see if they could get him stabilized.
I call on Monday and he still isn't eating or drinking so the Vet said that he would give it one more day to see if he would improve.
Tuesday I call and Tux is getting worse so now we have to make THE decision. I tell the Vet that I will be there in about an hour. I was at work and had to let them know that I had to go.
We get there and sign the consent form to put him to sleep then they take us to an exam room.
After a few mins. the Vet comes in and says that Tux passed away before we got there. He kept apologizing saying he didn't realize that Tux had been that close to going. He then asked if we wanted to see him.
We say yes...............I never wanted him to pass all alone. I didn't want him to think that we had just left him there and didn't care.
I like to hope that he knew we came to say goodbye and that we loved him.
So with goodbyes said here I am with tears streaming down my face and can't find any pictures of him. I know there are some somewhere but when I want them of course I can;t find them. :-(

Goodbye my buddy. my friend ................Rest In Peace Tux.
You will be missed.

Back to Work

Today is my first day back to work since Tuesday.
There have been many problems throughout our town with the serious cold snap.
Here at work the fire suppression waterline burst yesterday. Well today another pipe has burst. So we have no water here what so ever. This is not good...hopefully they can get it fixed there are clients and staff here and the water is needed for basic necessities.
As for my side the phones are absolutely crazy today.
Good thing it is Friday and I have another 2 days off.
This cold cold weather is finally leaving, the forecast for tomorrow is in the mid 40's yeaaaaaaa!!!!!

No Work Today

Well today is another day of no work. Yeaaaa
Of course I drove on icy roads to get to work because............NO ONE called to tell me that we were closed. Talk about PO'ed.
So I get in the door clock in and the phone is ringing...............it is the boss he says to me "why are you answering the phone?" Me.............uhhhhh are we not open today? No he says, didn't "M" call you? No.
Well go home...............gee thanks. So I drive home on the same icy roads with the idiots that are going to fast.
All is well I made it home in one piece and am happy to stay in the rest of the day. :-)

Snow

Well we actually got some snow. I know that this doesn't seen like a lot but for us in Southern NM it is a bunch.
Last week the temps were in the mid 60's today 20 degrees. Wow what a huge drop and it is supposed to stay this way till the weekend. Brrrrrrrr.

Winter

Well winter has finally or should I say unfortunately, shown it's face.
The weatherman kept saying that we were going to get some snow. Well around here it is ...I'll believe it when I see it. lol
It started snowing around 9:00 am and has been snowing on and off all day. :-(
The Temp. at 8:00 AM this morning was 32 degrees, it went down to 23 degrees at 10:00 and is now 27 degrees and going back down.
Living in Southern NM a lot of people don't know how to drive in the snow. So I really dislike it when it does snow and I have to be out driving.
I was supposed to go bowling tonight but it has been cancelled. Yeaaaa I won't have to drive tonight when it will be slippery. :-)
Hopefully when I get home I can get some shots, maybe even a snowflake macro if it's not to dark.

I have just learned how to use textures on my photos. I think I am addicted to textures. lol
I really like the way they makes some of my shots look.

Here are a few that I have done with textures.

These last two are my favorites.

I originally processed this one to be darker and really liked it. When I added the texture to it...........WOW it really popped the image.
